I have a 2004 Yamaha OX66 200hp outboard that I bought on a boat earlier this year. Compression is excellent and I have put about 40 hours on it so far this summer. Last two times I took it out, I noticed water draining from the wiring harness area. when I tilt the motor all the way up to trailer. I opened the cowl today after about an hour of run time and the bottom is wet. It is not clear where it is coming from. I ran the motor with the cowl off and didn't see any leaks anywhere and when I hooked the hose to the motor flush didn't see any water leaking anywhere then either. I will try and track down a barrel to run it in (my water pressure at my house sucks). The motor runs great and no overheat alarm is going off. I should mention it sounds like the popet valve is tapping and plan on replacing that. Any ideas?

When you stop out on the water does the water come up and come under the motor?
If so might be splash water

I did not try that. I will check that tomorrow when I head back out. Thanks.
