After being anchored for a few hours in calm seas with passing wakes of 1-1 1/2 feet, hauled anchor to return to port. Stalled after running about 5-10 minutes. Re-start, stall again, stalled 3rd time, would not start or turn over. Towed to slip, mechanic determined "some water get into cylinders on both sides of block". Evacuated water, boat runs perfect. Trouble with explanation other than potential infiltration due to current and wave action while anchored. Mechanic also indicated that older boats ( mine 2000, @ 450 hours) sometimes 'sit lower' and may have water creep over the risers. Risers and manifolds replaced last year. Only other factor worth mentioning, recently, while backing down into a tricky dock, and struck a piling. In the commotion, not sure if the swim platform or, possibly the outdrive, struck the piling, albeit, at a very slow speed. Since that incident, running unaffected with a total use of 1 1/2-2 hours of running time.
Boat now seems okay with mechanic's advice to run it and "see what happens"...... M"may need to switch out to taller risers"....... Looking for other opinions on the occuracnce.
