You can pump it out right through the fuel pick up, simply unhook the fuel line, and set up a pump to a properly sized barrel, and turn on the pump. When empty, you can pull the sending unit, and inspect it for debris, and water, if there is still some in there, dump a gallon of fuel in mixed with your favorite iso propyl. Pump that out to. You can also attach a rag to a wire or stick, and wipe the tank clean inside there if needed.
Now the fuel you pumped out, might be ok, depending on how old it is. The fuel floats on top of the water, so if you freeze the fuel, the water will freeze solid, then syphon off the good fuel, stopping about 6" from the water. I've done it myself a couple times, Then I put the pumped fuel in my car at about 2 gallons each fillup. No issues. I'm about as redneck as ya can get sometimes....lol
