last summer I had surgery and was unable to run the gas out of the tank. I used a treatment that prevents the separation e-10 fuel. There should be about 7 gallons of gas left in the tank. If gas has separated will drygas, or heet remove the water and could these additives damage the engine?

Re: water in gas

It would be best to just drain all the gas and flush the tank out with a gal. of new gas. My tanks set for at least 5 to 6 months over the winter here and I always add Sea Foam to them in the spring and pump the tank with a electric fuel pump recirculating the gas back into the tank. This way the water and any other matter gets filtered and remixed before hand. Then I add new fuel to top the tank off. Have done this for many years now and never had trouble doing so. The use of a good 10 micron filter will catch most of the unwanted crap in the tank and is a item that one should use all the time, as I have gotten bad gas when fueling up more than once at sellers outlet when their tank has not be maintained and the level in them is near the bottom of the tank. I only use additives that are for marine fuel such as Stable Marine, and Sea Foam, and use a spray can of Power Tune to store the motor and clean the dirt that sometimes collects in the carbs and other parts of the motor from use.

Re: water in gas

Asked a guy at the marina and he believes the fuel treatment should be good for a year.

There is no fuel treatment that will prevent phase separation, we'll expect for more ethanol. Many claim it though. If it had separated nothing will fix it either.

If you think it's bad, get rid of it, I would fill the tank and use it.

Re: water in gas

Thinking about the cost to rebuild the engine compared to a little and money and time, I will drain the tank. Thanks for the advice
