Re: Water in hull

the stringers are/should be attached to the hull so nothing can get under them. that's not to say they aren't sitting in puddles though. i found puddles of water on top of the foam when i pulled my old deck out, also puddles in the hull that couldn't drain to the bilge. nasty stuff.

Re: Water in hull

the stringers are on the hull after I looked more closely...there is very little water...just in a couple of spots. along the edge of the old stringers...i was wondering could I also make stringers that are vertical to the long ones and form a grid that would further reinforce...thanks

not sure exactly what you mean...would you be using the old stringers or putting new ones in? lots of boats have cross-supports running between the stringers to help support the deck. often the stringers are notched at the top, not ideal in my opinion.

notching in the top allows for free drainage. store with bow high.
