Dry it out really well and get some baby powder or flour all over inside the cowl then run it, you will be able see pretty quickly where ii is dripping from.

Have to say that's a great idea. Always learning something from this forum. Rick.

Ok, thanks, I will try that. I may not start it up again this year as I have just winterized it. Living up here in Canada. I will do that in the spring. Thanks for your suggestion.

What part of Canada? I'm in Southern Alberta and still getting out when I can. It's been a good fall so far. Man is it ever cold til about noon though. If you put the baby powder in now it will smell good all winter. LOL. Rick.

Often it is a small (for now) seep in the powerhead gasket or the exhaust cover.

If 'clean' water, most likely from head gasket or thermostat cover. Stay off the powder, gets messy when wet. Just some tissue paper.
However if water stays, the cover drain holes must be clogged.

From Ontario, near Toronto. The water is clean. Just sits in the lower cowl. Leaks out through where the cover joins with the main body. Maybe I could use some dye, food colour in a bucket in the spring time. This kind of sucks because I planned on selling this motor to upgrade to a 40HP. I built a small 13.5 foot wood glen L design speed boat 2 years ago, called the "Bingo" and though this motor pushes it at 32mph, I would like to go a bit faster. Im assuming this hole will get worse over time? Could it do any damage to the engine? The pisser is working fine.
