1998 Yamaha 75HP 2stroke Outboard not reaching full revs at WOT. Compression test - 80-70-10!!!
Checked the spark plugs and found evidence of water In the lower cylinder, plug was wet and clean, didn't appear to have been firing.

I pulled the head and found a small hole in the cylinder head. ( main cause of low comp?) After cleaning a lot of salt build up from the exhaust plate I found several pin sized corrosion holes on the block itself. Would these be enough to be flooding the lower cylinder? Would it be worth trying to patch them with JBweld or possibly pay to get it TIG welded?

I know its an old block but would like to get a bit more life out of the old girl if a cheap fix is possible.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

see if you can find another head, or see if someone can patch it
those other holes look like they may be there on purpose
