Turned over the motor today and no problems. I decided to change the lower end gear oil. It's the first time I ever saw water come out along with old black oil, smells like it got hot. "oh sH&*!. I've seen milky oil in other motors but never this 'texas tea' combo. I hope it's just the plug seals. Last time in water was 3-4 mos ago with fresh oil so maybe it seperated. Top end sounds great. Water in lower end. Please be something simple.

Johnson 140hp Model "14EM2". SN? 185385.
What's the pressure test I've about in this forum?

Driveway mechanic.

Good advice, there is heaps of stuff on pressure testing l/units, especially recently. Don't forget to do a vacum test too, did you replace the fill and vent screw gaskets when you changed oil last, could be as simple as that.

I bought the screw gaskets. I'll fill the gearcase put the screws with the new seals on. Then should I lower the motor into a large bucket of water (trash can) and look for bubbles like a bicycle innertube . I don,t have the tester.

Where can I get the vacuum/pressure tester, on-line?

Thanks,
Bob
