Water in Lower Unit

I just ran my boat in the driveway and have water coming out where the lower unit bolts on. I have never ran this out of water. Is this common or did I put something together wrong? Water is coming out where two halves join. I have good water pressure. This is a 1990 Evinrude 90 and thank you for the help I got on here during the rebuild. Joel

sounds normal...that area has open water, and isn't gasketed...

agian thanks to all that helped out on this i fierd it up this morning and it's running great open water will tell but untill my manual gets here next week you guys saved my 4th whic is my bday

just keep an eye on its temperature and telltale as you would after any rebuild......Happy birthday
