WATER IN OIL ALSO!!

I have a 1984 Mastercraft Stars and Stripes with a 351 Winsor. I took the boat out of storage last weekend. Put new plugs, wire, cap, and rotor. Checked the oil, had changed when winterizing it. Fired up fine, Went down the lake about a half mile everything sounding good, water temp good, oil pressure good. My two boys were complaining about being warm and wanting to swim. Stopped shut the boat off. Noticed steam coming out of engine compartment. Opened it checked the oil, Milky colored. Got towed back in. Drained the oil/water out of the oil pan. Expect it to be head gasket. What is my next step? Does not have radiator, has raw water intake. Whats first? Ryan

does it freeze where you are at? possible freeze damage?

Exhaust Manifolds.....<br />Intake Manifold.........<br />Then the Heads..............<br /><br />You'll Find the Leak by then.............

Well, there are many things that could be causing the water intrusion. The head gasket would be the best scenario you could hope for. Do a compression test to see if you have any suspect cylinders. Worst case is that the engine block, exhaust manifolds and risers are cracked due to feeze damage. See, most marine engines are RAW water cooled, which means no antifreeze. So if the engine block, manifolds or risers were not drained before winter storage, they most likely are cracked and need replaced.

Thank you very much for all your feedback. I should have mentioned, that I did winterize it. Well I put two gallons of anti freeze in. I will do a compression test today, and get back with you. Thanks again for all the help.
