Re: water in piston
Author Topic: water in piston
rmel

My guess would be the exhaust plate gasket. If you decided to pull the exhaust plate back off, place a straight edge across it to make sure it is not warped.

When you replaced the plate last time, did you use sealer on the gasket?

Some posters on this site (and others) recommend using sealer, while others recommend against it.

If the exhaust plate was not warped, I would lean towards no sealer. If it has some slight imperfections, I would consider Hi Temp RTV, on one side of the gasket only.

Search this site for opinions, and search the Scream & Fly web site for more.

Good Luck,

Gold Bear
