I have a 1969 Harris pontoon that has water in the pontoons (back section). There is pipefitting plugs on the top of the logs right in the middle of the stantions (for lack of a better term)from the deck to the logs. No way to get a wrench in there, much less do anything if I could get the plugs out. What I want to do is drill a hole in the back of the logs and let the water drain out. After which I can either use epoxy to plug the holes I made or make a larger hole and put a plug there. Will this work? Any other ideas?

No drain Plugs? Have a weldor drill out with a small hole saw and install a 1/2" aluminum coupling and aluminum plug. The plugs in the top are for during the welding process to vent the 'toons so that the expanding air from heat inside does not pollute the weld during the TIG welding process...

Hi Graywolf<br />On my old toon I had leaks in the back sections also. I just drilled a 1/2" Holes in the bottom rear of each log, let the water drain out and then put in a 1/2" Snap type rubber Bailer plug in each hole. Very easy to drain again and check if it's still taking on water. Won't take you 5 minutes to do. Works great and the plugs keep it watertight as well. They are available almost everywhere, including walmart.
