I've been told of an old trick used by many many guys "back in the day" when racing on the streets. My co-driver used to race his 48 fleetliner that was all hot-rodded up.
To clean out the carb and plugs etc they would get the engine really hot and slowly pour small amounts of water into the carb. This loosened dirt and crud from everything and cleaned it all out. Ran like crap when you poured the water in but worked better afterwards.
Anyone else heard of this? Would it work for a 2stroke outboard?
