I have A99 gen2 with a bad trim cylinder that must have sucked in water into the system as the oil is very milky.I have a new cylinder to instal but what is the best way to get all the water out of the system? Can I run it with lines off to push old oil out?

your going to have water in the good cylinder also

when i did mine i pulled the cylinders and moved them by hand to pump out all the dirty oil

please note moveing the cylinders is REALLY hard

i unbolted the pump and remover the tank to wash it out cause milkey oil can take forever to flush out

i used the pump to pump clean oil down to a catch can with the 4 trim lines to flush clean oil through them, it takes a lot of oil to get it real clean

tommays

what method did you use to test a cyl? I see many that the design of the trim resevoir fill cap is the culprit.

You can move the cylinder rams easy with 60#
of air pressure. If seals went bad on one
cylinder. The other is ready to go.
End caps and seal and o-ring kit is $50

I know the cylinder is bad because with the drive off The ram on that one will come out on its own while the good one stays put.I dont think the cap is the culprit.Anyways I allready have the new cylinder to install. Thanks for the tips all, Matt

I know this is an old post, but how do you move the cylinders with air pressure? Where do you connect it? I am trying to search for my answer as I have milky looking trim fluid and it goes really slow moving up (yet I can hear the pump trying hard). Yesterday I unbolted the 4lines from the rams and had the pump shoot out a lot of the fluid, then put new in. But now I think I have air in the lines.
