Water inlet pipe

I have a 1986 force 50 and while removing the lower unit to replace the water impeller the inlet pipe came out with it. I can't see up there well enough to see where it goes to. How do i put it back like it's supposed to be? Do i need to remove the power head?

No just get a light and look.

Then a coating of silicone on the OUTSIDE of the pipe.
Not a lot, it can help it stay in place.

Or no silicone and shove the pipe up there.
Once the drive's back in place, the pressure will hold it in place.
