Water inlet

Now that I know that I have a repowered boat, I've notice a few adaptations to the water system. On the bottom hull of the boat is a water inlet, the hose for the water pump is connected to it instead of the outdrive line which is capped. Should I switch it back?

If it works, no reason to change it. The thru hull fitting doesn't suffer from many of the air leaks that can happen with the thru the dive pickup system.
