Water leak via exhaust?

Have a 98 ski centurion 350 mag inboard. First time in water this year noticed exhaust may have sounded louder and then water filling up underneath up to nearly the floor after a few minutes of running across the lake, shut down and bilged out, have not started motor. Water hoses seem to be in place on the motor, is there exhaust hose that could be the problem? Is there a risk of motor damage w/ water nearly up to the floor boards?

Ayuh,... The Starter is probably Junk by now,....

You're there,... LOOK to see where the water is coming from,...
We can't see a thing from here...
