water leak

my #3 plug is showing signs of water intrusion.

i have water coming from between the power head and exhaust housing....seeping but still leaking.


are these two connected or do i have another problem with the cyl getting water intrusion?


which gasket should i be concerned with the one under the power head or the one at the bottom of the exhaust housing?

looks like its seeping right around the corner of the exhaust cover but i cant tell for sure.........i thought this may be a common prob with one of the gaskets.....seems like ive read a post similar to this prob of mine but i havent been able to locate it so i asked .

i may have misread the plug...........the one im thinking has water intrusion looks like the partially clean one in this guys pic.......sorry dude i couldnt find the thread you posted on and i still had the pic open---didnt mean to hijack your pics.........but one of mine looks just like this one......and im not real good a posting pics......except my elec is a nice tan color

You may have two issues going on here. The external leak can be due to a bad base gasket. You will have to pull the powerhead to replace that gasket to stop that type of leak. Water in the cylinder is generally not due to a bad base gasket, but can be either a bad head gasket or bad exhaust cover gaskets. Is there any chance that the exhaust cover gasket is the one leaking and it appears to be leaking at the base gasket area? Any exhaust cover leaks can wash the lower pistons/plugs. The exhaust cover gaskets are easy to replace and you can do that yourself without disassembling anything else. You would need two gaskets, 319174.

No problem on the pic loan! Let us know what you find out. Other than the plug, what makes you think you have a water intrusion into the cylinder? What are your symptoms?
