Hey all, I have a Johnson J15RCRM s/n G5993855 (1984 I think) with water coming out of the area where the lower unit mounts to the frame, excuse my ignorance of nomenclature, the picture has an arrow 🤣 I’m not sure if water has always came out of here on muffs or if it’s new, also there’s a white milky oil coming out of the prop after shutting down but the lower unit oil is new and was not milky when I changed it...are these serious issues? Any tips would be great, thanks in advance.

That water yoy say is coming out may be a loose mount...hafta take off the lower to get in the exhaust housing to tighten the nut..

What F_R says
ITYWF the water is coming from where the shift rod passes from inside the steering pivot tube into the "foot" of the exhaust housing There should be grommet, #42, in the hole but it may be missing.

The milky oil coming from the prop after shutting down is almost certainly unburnt oil from the fuel mix.
Unless it is obviously gear oil or there are signs of water in the gearcase it is normal.

Sorry, had to change user names, couldn’t log back in with old email...thanks for the help, there is certainly no signs of water in the lower unit, I changed it maybe an hour before the picture was taken, had to either be spilled oil or in burned oil like Vic said...thanks for the help
