water line stopped up

I cranked my '99 yami 4 stroke the other day and first water to come thru the pee hole was muddy and it then reduced to a spray and stopped all together. I shut it down and can see something sticking out the hole. A friend told me it was probably a dirt dauber nest. How do I clean the line and prevent this from occurring again.

use a small wire and clear the tube with the engine running either on the muffs or in the water.
only way to keep dubbers out is to tape off the opening when not in use. just dont forget the tape as some 99 fourstrokes may have fuel coolers or water cooled voltage regulators.
