I just replaced the water pump and themostats on my 1995 evinrude 88spl.I put water to it and started it up.Pump seems to be fine however there is water coming from around the bolts that hold the large rear cover on.This is the cover between the heads.Is this in anyway connected to the water pump replacement.

Thats a main water area. There are two plates there. The outer is the water jacket cover and the inner is the exhaust cover. All you need (hopefully) is a couple of gaskets.<br /><br />Good luck!
