I have a 2003 sea boss cuddly cabin. Cannot find either the water proof hinge or replacement material for this hinge. It is located on the caddy entry on the top lift lid that raises up in order to open the door. The lid is hinged and looks like it had some type of material on it to make it water proof. As it is now it leaks rain water into the cuddly cabin. Does anyone know anything about this problem.

Should be a seal that the flip door hits to prevent rain intrusion. Hinge itself cant be weatherproof

Looks like a seal sitting over a piano hinge.

Unbolt the hinge, use a piece of uv stable urethane to make a new seal

Would a place like West Marine carry uv stable urethane. Looked on line and couldn’t find any.

no. however industrial places like McMaster Carr would. mcmaster.com. in the time being, you could cut apart a bicycle tube to use the rubber. however it will only last about 4 or 5 years.

Those hinges are covered with a strip of something like Sunbrella, a little longer than the hinge. I don't think they are completely waterproof on the ends.

Using my artistic training gleaned from reading old matchbook covers;

If the fabric is doubled, it may last longer.

Looks to me that they put a piece of vinyl upholstery over the hinge, to waterproof it.

Look at the end of the hinge where the "seal" is frayed. Appears that the while fabric is backing of vinyl upholstery.

Of course, you would have to seal (glue, 3m 5200 or 3m weatherstip adhevise) the sides of the vinyl to the hatch and boat deck, or it would leak inbetween.
