I have a 2003 yamaha pro v 150. Alarm is going off, oil resevior is on the low side. does the oil res need to be manually filled each time ? What else does the alarm indicate ? is it low on oil ? running hot ? Last time on the water, accelerated to about 5500 rpm alarm sounded and motor idled down and putted back to dock.

Re: water pump / alarm / oil resevior ?

properly rigged with yamaha digital guage package the tach will indicate which switch is setting the alarm.
the engine oil tank should be automaticly refilled via commands by the switch in the engine tank in conjuction with the switch(closed) in the remote tank.
remote tank switch open,or a broken connection, and auto transfer is inhibited.
bad sw2 switch in the engine tank and the transfer pump on command is never sent to the ECU.
