good morning,
over the years I have changed a lot of lower unit pumps in both outboards and outdrives this one stumped me. I change the pump in the gen 2 on an 18-foot sea ray 4.3 all went well till I started her up and only got water out of one side of the exhaust ???? any ideas or answers as to what I did wrong or what to look for would be great.
thank you for any help
john

Should not be an issue, water is going thru both exhaust manifolds, there just isn't enough to show it coming out of both relief ports in the transom. Most hoses are unable to supply all the water the pump can pump

Here one for you, got some new rectanglur flush ears to replace my 20 year old round ones which worked perfect. well i oriented the rectangle to match inlet port on outdrive. couldn't figure why motor was getting warm. changed a perfectly good water pump, truth be told i taken ones out 10 years old looked perfect. problem is when i turned the flush ears it collapsed against the inlet veins and starved for water. they go perpidicular to veins. what can you do , but the round ones!!!
