Water pump choice? Johnson 150

What if any is the difference in standard water pump and the chrome pump kit? Besides about 45 bucks. Is there any benifit to running this pump?

not that I ever saw.<br /> we never sold many. even running in our sandy inlet the heavy duty kit was not a subsitute for annual pump maint. maybe someone has another view of it ?

We've never used them ariund here either. The regular kit seems to work fine and we have a lot of sany bottom that loves to eat up stuff like ss props. But ever since the "high volume" (5001595) pumps came out we use them in all the V4's and V6's like yours.
