Good afternoon to everyone,

My question is I bought a genuine Water pump for my motor. The pump installation calls for a different types of sealants and I want to know from the veterans that have did a water pump change what sealants do you use to put this together with and what exactly do I need to buy and if I can by this at Wal-Mart? Also with a thermostat kit change do you use the same type of sealant for the gaskets? I didn't want to have to buy several different sealants because they will probably be wasted. What type of grease would you use to keep the impellar key in place on the drive shaft?

I use the OMC sealant that comes in a can with a brush as part of the lid though any simular type will work such as sealer 1000. On the grease for the key - any will work as the only function is to hold it in place as you slide the impeller down over it.

Good afternnon,

I have another question about the water pump? The istallation instructions shows a o-ring between the top of the liner cup and the water pump housing. The o-ring doesn't call for any sealant but the cup liner does why is that? Am imaking any since to you guys?
Thank you
