I appreciate any help I can get on this. First off, this is my first boat. I have a 1990 yamaha cv55 2 stroke and it is not peeing, I belive it is the water pump? is there anything else it could be? Where is it located in the motor? Can I fix this myself? HELP!!! Thanks

Re: water pump help?

check the pee hole...bugs like to build nests in that little hole and plugs it up. run a flexible wire in it while motor is running..may open right up. if not that, may be water pump impeller located in the foot of the motor(requires unbolting and lowering of the foot) Good Luck!

Thanks, i pulled the foot off (thats was a bear) shot water up the pipe and it came out the pee hole just fine. I noticed that the impeler has 3 of the 6 teeth broke off so I bought a water pump repair kit, I'm hoping this fixes my issue.

Did you look to see if it looked like most of the broken off pieces were still there in the pump? If they were not then you may end up with a problem of them blocking off cooling passage ways inside the engine. Some have found pieces in the thermostat area so that is easy to check.
