Water Pump housing grommet Question Suzuki DT150 1989

Need to replace the grommet on top of my water pump housing (See picture). Does this this thing just pop out? I'm also curious as to what purpose it serves?

yes it just pulls out.
It is there to seal the water pipe leaving the pump outlet to power head so water runs up the pipe instead of leaking out
