Water pump : is it normal ??

Johnson 40 hp 2002:<br />i taked apart the gearcase just to look externally the water pump and gaskets condition. They look fine.<br />I reassembled the gearcase and tried to run the engine to verify the cooling system: the water flow was good but i observed a flow of water from the gasket indicated with the red arrow in the picture. A good flow of water exit also from a little hole like in the picture (blu arrow).<br />Is it normal ???<br />

If you run it on muffs, which appears is what you did, yes that's normal.

Thanks OBJ,<br />in the previous off or pre season maintenance i dont ever noted that and so i was worried for incoming summer.<br /><br />So i have only 999 questions to ask in the forum: please be patient and tolerant with my questions
