I purchased a new/used boat with 1991 yamaha 200's. I pulled the lower units to replace the h2o pumps and both impellar keys are frozen onto the shafts. Any suggertions on how to remove. It looks like the previous owner lacked on maint. Replaced the popit valves, stats, plugs. There were no o rings on the on engine fuel filters and added them.

Use some wd40 or liquid wrench. use a fine center punch or small screw driver in the groove and tap with a hammer, lifting the key out. Should work but don't scar the groove.

It will take a good punch and a BFH. That stands for Big F$&king Hammer. Just put the point on one end and punch at a 45 degree angle. It will rotate the key down and out. It will be hard to start but the more it moves, the easier it will get. The new key will have to be driven back in the slot.
