water pump kit or just impeller.

I purchased a sierra impeller(18-3059) for my 1989 Johnson 150. It only came with the impeller and a small white wedge. Is this all that is needed to service the water pump? I seen other sierra kits with orings and gaskets and stuff. Do I need all that to do the impeller change or not?

If your water pump housing/cup has any wear grooves at all around the sides, or on the base plate then you should install a kit.
