water pump kit

I have a 72 arrowglass viper with a merc 140 and I got a water pump kit for it everything went in good except I have 2 fiber or composite I think washers left over.. where do they go? I did not see these in my drive when I took it apart are they other parts for a different model like the extra o rings and gasket?

Well,..... It's Hard to Say,.....<br /><br />Who's Kit is it,.??...<br /><br />Is 1 of them the Oring for the Oil Passage between the Upper,+ Lower,..??...<br /><br />Could they be the Washers for the Fill,+ Vent Plugs,...??....<br /><br />Or,........<br />Maybe they Are for another application.......

it's a sierra pump kit 18-3317..I think your right I think the 2 washers are for the vent and fill screws..everything else is in fine the slinger,shaft o-ring ,oil seal and water pump base o-ring and gaskets

Could also be for a drive that had a water flushing screw on the lower gearcase.<br /><br />DHP
