Water pump problem or worse?

I have a 1998 Johnson 9.9 4stroke and when I flushed the motor this AM, I noticed some water coming up from where the lower unit meets the "swivel joint". The motor ran fine, I have good flow coming from the pump from the upper and lower units. The flow doesn't happen all time so I don't know if this is something normal or I have some major problem. Any ideas. Mike

I have seen the same on Jonnierudes including my own.I replace the impeller every 2-3 seasons whether it needs it or not.Charlie
