I disassembled my water pump and obviously the impeller needs to be replaced. I was looking at the impeller cup and it has some slight groves in it, does that mean it needs to be replaced or is that normal.

I would assume that the impeller, water tube O ring, the thick ring on the top where the shaft comes in, impeller plate, and the gaskets on each side should be replaced, what about anything in the water pump base? I guess there are O rings in the bottom somewwhere too??

Sounds like you need the entire water pump assy, why have to do it again in a few months, the grooves are wear and will wear you new impeller.

A kit with new top is about 50 bucks, a base is, well I cant remember. Do the hole thing and that way your good to go with nothing to worry about.

The water pump base prys out of the gearcase. Make sure you sand the driveshaft to remove any dirt and rust, before installing the new pump base. Also, make sure to oil the driveshaft and seals before installing the new base.
