Make sure that the shift rod has not been rotated, or you will have to reset the height.
Grease the shift rod at the point where it enters the gearcase, it helps to cut down on wear on the seal.
Be sure to grease the side of the driveshaft at the top and to install the o-ring. make sure the drain holes on the sides of the gearcase are clean.
The job will go much easier if you can get someone to hold the gearcase while you check the shift rod alignment and get a couple of bolts in place.
Have the spark plugs out so that you can turn the flywheel and make getting the driveshaft installed easier.
