Water Pump Repair

I just bought a 1958 25 hp Buccaneer does any body know what water pump kit # to replace the pump with or a Johnrude part number or year to refer to for this motor.

It could be a 25 hp as it was built by Gale. Anyway we need a model #.

update I Followed jb93 post it is the same as a 1955 Johnson 25Hp RD-17 the housing part number on the water pump matches the Johnson factory part number but its cheaper to use a water pump kit and I cannot find a part # for it.

You wont find a water pump kit #. Just individual part numbers to order. What exactly do you need? Very often a new impeller and housing grommet will get you on your way. Very rare in my experience that the housing and wear plate are no good.

Also have a new o ring for the top of the drive shaft on hand when you go to do the job.
