Water pump replacement, ...linkage location and access

Want to R + R water pump and seals, 1992 Evinrude E70TLEND have process understood, less location of linkage to be removed if need be. Not going to just go nuts removing stuff. Thank you.I have the parts in hand at a loss of linkage disengagment.

Find the shift arm ( starboard side ) on the MOTOR that goes under the carburetors.-----Now remove the HITCH pin on that arm.-----Push that to the port side and rotate slightly.----Shift rod is now disconnected.----Just need a pair of needle nose pliers and that is all.
