I have a 1990 Force 120 HP L-Drive and am replacing the water pump and have 3 questions.
1. The old impeller had 4 pieces broken off and I was able to locate the largest 3 pieces. I am thinking of flushing the system with the garden hose but don't know if I should go in at the thermostat (located at top of manifold) and blow back down towards the water pump, or go to the fitting at the base of the engine and blow up towards the thermostat ??
2. When I removed the thermostat cover I discovered that the previous owner had removed the thermostat. I have ordered a new thermostat and just wondered if I should replace it or (with the notoious L-Drive) should I not put one in ?
3. To remove the linkage pin I had to disconnect a hydrulic line for the trim. I lost quite a bit of fluid and am not 100% sure where to put new fluid ?
