Hi All,

I'm putting in a new impeller on my 1965 6hp motor and the heads of the old screws are in bad shape and I'd like to replace them.

Would I be correct that these are stainless steel? If so, I thought it it would much faster if I go to the local hardware store and buy new ones. Am I missing anything?

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Wayne

yes they're stainless, manual recommends using omc gasket sealant on the threads....probably any anti seize with aluminum and non copper base would do...loctite makes a nonmetal based marine antiseize that's good stuff....I purchased some after reading about it on the forums < lindy's post was the first I read on it >
