Hello, my first post here, over the past couple years its been tough locating parts for older cobalts. Mine is a 19ft 2000 5.0L GL volvo penta SX. Trying to find a Volvo Penta Raw Water Pump V Belt dual Pulley with shaft. Or can that shaft come apart and used with new pulley? BTW i cant find squat on this haha. Thanks all!

Did you try here:

What is your complete model number?
You have a grey or red engine?

Raw water pumps of your vintage were not pulley driven. They were mounted on the crankshaft pulley. Which pulley are you actually talking about?

5.0GL PEFS and its grey. I have removed the water pump and I’m looking for the v pulley that was attached to pump. I rebuilt the pump and it does not seat up against the pulley shaft just slides right on. Thanks for your help.

Volvo has been using that same pump design for as long as Volvo Penta has been making stern drives. I would use it long before I switched to that Mercruiser design.

I would love to use it but cannot find the v belt pulley I need to make it work. My pump does not fit snug on shaft I can put it on by hand which is causing my leak (I think). Thanks guys.

the pump body should not be snug, only has seals riding on the shaft and is bracketed in a fixed position

Perfect! Most post I saw when rebuilding water pump showed them using a pulley to remove pump from shaft pulley. If it does not need to fit snug and just held in place with that bracket, then I need to check my water pump rebuild job.
