hey guys, Im new to the boating world and am gradually starting to learn more about it. How do i know when to replace the water pump and how often should it be replaced?
Is this a major expensive thing or general maintenance?

Re: water pump

Every couple of seasons, the waterpump impeller should be replaced. If a motor is new to you, and you don't know when it was done last, you should replace it. It's not expensive if you do it yourself. You'll want to get the service manual for your specific engine.

Allow about an hour the first time you do it, and half an hour every time after that.
