water pump

i have a bayliner cuddie capri with a 85 horse force, going to put a water pump in it myself, anybody have problems? anybody have any tips or hints?

Check the "Sticky" thread at the top of the forum. I just changed mine on my '87 85HP and it was very easy using the directions that Frank had noted.... Good luck...

I would recomend having someone there to help you put the lower end back in.

When you are putting everything back together, be sure to grease every boyt well with thick axle grease, this will help prevent corrotion that seizes bolts

Also, if there are blades missing from the old impeller, be sure to check the water tube for restrictions, cant count the number of times that I pulled a water pump with missing blades and found the jammed up in the water tube that goes to the engine
