Water Separator Filter Mounting Location

I have a '73 165hp I6 and am considering installing a water separator filter this year. Any best place to mount this? I would like to mount on the motor near the fuel pump if there is room.
Also, would I need to remove any of the other two existing filters(fuel pump and carb) so as to not to impede fuel flow or is that not even an issue?

make a bracket to fit 2 of the 3 holes in the block where the car mount would go

Once you have the new filter installed you could remove the one in the fuel pump. There should be no issue leaving it installed, but you could also just not replace it when time to change it.

Ayuh,.... It can be mounted Anywhere, 'tween the fuel tank, 'n fuel pump,...

Ease of changin' it is priority #1,...

The 2 original filters can be let in, 'n used,..... or not,.... yer choice,....

I thought the Water Fuel separator needed to be install about 6 inch above the fuel Pump !

Nope,... It can be mounted, literally, Anywhere, 'tween the tank, 'n the pump,....
