If there is a fair amount of water in the fuel does a water seperating filter restrict the flow of fuel to the fuel pump? also does water settle to the bottom of a fuel tank and can it be siphoned out without draining entire tank? thanks for any replys.

Re: water seperating filter

The filter will still pass fuel and then a fuel/ water mix if its water limit is reached

If there was enough solid stuff it would clog

If you have real gas the water settels down in the bottom and can be sucked out

WITH the 10% ethonal blend it hard to say from my experience so far as the gas holds more water

Is there a rule of thumb when using a water/fuel seperator for changing and having to get a new one? Should youjust change it after the first few runs of the season? What?

I run it as long as it still runs. If it quits on ya, ya yank the filter, and see if its all water. Then you put the new one that you have with you (ya have spares, right), along with a can of gas to pre-fill the filter (I don't have to remind you your playing with gas), and replace it. Run it again.....
Now, how much water in the fuel will depend on just how much time it takes to fill the WSF
