So I replaced my water pump housing and impeller. I put it all back together but the water is spurting out of the pee hole. It is a strong spurt followed by nothing followed by a strong spurt, it definitely has a timing / rhythm to it. This is just with the muffs on I have not tried it in the water yet.

My question is this. The plastic tube that comes out of the water pump is quite a but larger than the copper tube is connects to on the engine. So I am wondering if this connections needs some kind of adapter or something. Do you want it to be a water tight connection. I have a large surge of water coming out the holes behind the zincs so it kind of seems like all the water coming out of the pump is not going up into the engine but spilling out and overflowing out the hole behind the zincs?

The waterpump cover should have a black plastic seal, that will seat against the bottom of the water tube. The new seal usually comes with the waterpump kit.

BTW - The telltale is controlled by the thermostats. If the 'stats are closed, no telltale flow. On the flusher, the motor is constantly running on cold water, with no load. So the 'stats are likely opening and closing. Try it in the water.
