Hello all, I have tried to seach the forums and apologize if this has already been answered.

I have a 1970? 15ft Starcraft with an older Mercury 50hp longshaft. Once I hit top speed water is "sucked" up between the engine and the tramsom. I believe that my transom height is about 17-18 inches.

I have tried trimming the motor and have had no success.

Does anyone have any ideas, do I need to go to a short shaft, if so is there a conversion kit avaliable?

Thanks in advance for any help.

-Eric

Sounds like the motor is indeed mounted too low. Either a shorter motor or a manual jackplate to raise the one you have may be in order.
