While taking off lower unit to change water pump, the copper tube broke off about 2 inches inside the mid section portion of the lower unit.Question if I simply push the broken section into the mid section of the lower unit, what is the chance the water will travel mostly into the tube to the powerhead.Im not sure how tight the fit is with the pressure of the lower unit being bolted back on.

Unfortunately the powerhead has to be removed to access the water tube inside the midsection of the lower unit.Looking for less costly solution.

you will have to remove powerhead once you overheat it. i had a used lower unit that keep getting hot, once i took it apart i found out why powerhead wasn't any good(which made lower unit availbile) when water pump was install installer put seal in upside down this caused a slight restriction and overheat. I replace seal problem solved. you cant have any leak or restiction on this tube.
