Hey guys I’m new on here so be patient please. I need to change my water tube on my SeaRay 230 weekender 5.7 mercruiser . I’m looking for suggestions on how to. It looks like the out drive has to come off ?? I took the two plots off inside the engine compartment but the tube seemed solid still and after looking at some pictures of it I see why! It looks like it does a 45 degree angle.Any help would be appreciated

I’m guessing that. You have an Alpha 1 of one sort or another, and that you are talking about the plastic fitting that goes through the transom? You might post drive type and year along with serial number. And confirm what water tube you are looking at.

Never replaced on in over 40 years, what is wrong with yours?

Definitely seems like a strange one off right?

OP if you really do need to replace it this video is an entire gimbal housing rebuild, but you'll also be able to see how the plastic fitting attaches/detaches if you need to do it. You will need to remove your outdrive and it will be very tight to maneuver without removing anything else.
