hello,
i have a 84 3.8l v-6. seems that after warming up steam pours out of the tubes coming from my pcv valves and up to the carb. engine runs sloppy unless i hang the hoses away from carb. any ideas?

p.s. removed the heads and gaskets seemed fine.
thought it may have been blown head gaskets.

thank you

Do you have water in your oil?

Does that mean you have reasembled the motor with new gaskets and it's still got water coming out of the breather?

And welcome to i-boats!!

Aldo

i think i may have found the problem. there was an exhaust leak going to the intake.

Into the Intake,... Or Under the Intake ???

Under the Intake would explain the Pressurized Base........

Into the Intake Doesn't.............

The area under the intake is open to the base (crankcase pressure) hot water vapor will rise through the pvc hoses to carb. Also because the carb is under vacuum it draws oil and water vapor.normally just oil.

Rich

Ayuh,...........

What Rich said,.......

If you've got an Exhaust Leak going INTO Any of the engines Oil Cavity(the Base),.....
It's Going to be Pressurized................

My bet is that you have water coming in from one of the manifolds/risers or gaskets. I have the same engine and had simular problems.
