hi folks,
wondering 2 things.
72 model I sterndrive. on boat below.
just got some helicoils in place in my upper drive shaft houseing and am wondering what to torque the bolts down to on the plastic waterpocket cover? also weather or not to use a gasket sealer on this. these are 1/4-20 SS bolts into 1/4-20 helicoils mounted to the aluminum upper.

Well done Zig,

Book says to torque to 30-40 lb-in. That's pound-inches, not pound-foot, about 3 lb-ft. Because of the location I'd be inclined to use a non-hardening gasket sealer, like Perma-tex.

Chris..........

Edit : Arrr, ya got in before me Bondo, while I was lookin' up the book. :)
